AlpInvest Partners came to Breakout Studio with a website that looked like it was as old as their firm. They are giants in their industry and needed a digital presence that would match that reputation.

I spearheaded the brand messaging and web writing processes while our design team delivered new brand look and feel.

 

the challenge

AlpInvest needed a website that would match their reputation as a powerful player in the global fund-of-funds sphere. The previous site was outdated and difficult to navigate, with a majority of information hidden in dense paragraphs.


the solution

We engaged in a complete overhaul of the brand’s look, feel, tone of voice and value proposition, and conducted 20+ stakeholder interviews inside and outside the company to understand the core. of the story, and how best to tell it.

The result is a bold, direct, unimpressed tone of voice that crashes like a hammer through glass in a competitive landscape of milquetoasty, jargon-laden mediocrity. (Is it showing that this one is my baby?)

With the launch of the new site, AlpInvest evolved overnight from the technologically challenged grandfather of the industry into the avant-garde of a traditionally tepid landscape.

To this day, AlpInvest is one of our most referenced websites and is cited by more clients in “yeah, we want that” conversations than any of our other past projects, save AIM Clinics.
